Just a cool place to keep you all up to date!
Art will be posted here if you are all interested!
Honestly, when people don't recognize your art, it can make you feel REALLY down... I understand that feeling all too well. As a small artist, you don’t have that “big audience” of people that you were probably hoping for. But — in my opinion — it isn’t the size that matters. It’s the people that care. Even so, with the size, there may be less business coming your way — that’s a reasonable thing to be worried about. I don’t blame you whatsoever... Having a welcoming social platform can mean that you have to let some things “slide” for certain people. For instance, I may not like some people, but I don’t block them. If I do, my page will gain less traction than before. However, if you’re only pursuing social media and art/whatever as a hobby, then I fully agree that you should completely use that block service even when it isn’t harassment. (I’ve only used it during harassment due to being a huge art account on Instagram and other such places). When you’re smaller, you seem to get less hate from people, but — at the same time — when you’re a bigger creator, there’s people dog-piling on you but also those that love what you do and will continue to be there. Talking About Parasocial Relationships I’ve had a few people in the past act like we were friends and actively engaging in a friendship despite them only being a fan of what I was doing and working on. I’m not saying that content creators can’t grow close to one of their fans, but — for safety reasons — it’s not advised! So many things can go wrong due to that person possibly idolizing you and seeing that your word matters over everyone else’s or even their own. It can become toxic very quickly. I know that my first one happened way back in 2020 when I was making videos on Erinclover_. I kept receiving messages from someone who I won’t mention, but their name starts with an A... They kept DM-ing me on Instagram until I inevitably answered. Even upon seeing the profile picture, I knew this wouldn’t go well. And I don’t understand why I even engaged in the first place... This person was an adult at the time, and I was a minor. This isn’t the only one that happened, but, now that I’m older, I’m realizing how many creeps that have DM-ed me and I should’ve just cut off the conversation then and there — or maybe even have never answered at all! But, heck, I was young — I didn’t know any better, and that’s the worst part. Parasocial relationships don’t just hurt the viewer, they hurt the content creator, too. Especially if there content had nothing to do with their personal life whatsoever. Take Markiplier and Jacksepticeye for an example on how a fan and their favorite creator became friends! It’s not always bad, but I’ve seen a lot of people act like they’re in a serious friendship — and sometimes even romantically involved — with said person...That makes EVERYONE uncomfortable. Trust me... Wrapping This Up So, after discussing all of this, I just want to let you all know: Yes, this blog was absolutely RANDOM!
Was it bad? Not in my opinion. Actually, I thoroughly enjoyed having this short talk today. I’ll be posting some art soon! Keep tabs on me on social media by following me on Instagram! (I’ll announce a TON of my stuff there!)

I’ve been contemplating if I should write more fanfiction and original stories on AO3..!
I know it was something fun that I truly enjoyed at one point or another, and — especially since I’ll be so busy — art might take a little bit (other than my professional stuff and commissions). I’m concerned with getting by right now, so that should be my top priority... Anyways, with that said, I think that’s all for now! I’ve been trying to get some art together, but, so far, I just can’t — it’s impossible when I don’t have any inspiration to do practically anything.
It isn’t a feeling that’s very foreign to me, however, because a lot of us artists are burnt out nowadays, especially with how we’re now “having to compete with AI,” having our art stolen, traced, etc., as well as the general market just seeming to lack consumers recently. It feels like things are going downhill. On Twitter, a bunch of people are acting like art should be censored, and I really hate that predicament. Wanting censorship is the worst thing for when it comes to art because it’s meant to be expressive and display not only ideas but also just general fictional interests as well! It’s disappointing to see Twitter users — and even those on other websites such as Tumblr and Instagram — advocating for this type of censorship. I see it mostly thrown towards Japanese artists on social media due to them usually having the more “risqué” art from fandoms. That’s just from what I’ve heard however, so I don’t know. What I DO know, however, is that censorship shouldn’t be treated like a good thing. The second something is censored is the moment people will cling to that censorship and claim that it isn’t enough — it will further censor everything. |
